Working in Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana, Texas Energy Mutual, LLC, acquires the rights to properties and drills with the overall goal of producing gas and oil. Dedicated to helping individuals within the community, Texas Energy Mutual regularly assists several nonprofit enterprises, including Carpenters for Christ.
Carpenters for Christ attempts to build a body of Christ by physically constructing worship centers, shelters, and orphanages. The volunteer organization welcomes individuals from different faiths and areas of work.
From 2012 through 2014, Carpenters for Christ volunteers traveled to Guatemala and Honduras for its mission trips. The organization worked with Hope of Life International, assisting Guatemalans with the power of the Gospel, creating buildings, and providing additional independence.
In 2014, the group made three trips to the area, one from February 15 through 22, another from February 22 through March 1, and the final one occurring February 23 through March 2. The two countries are the third and fourth poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere, with the average income around $10 USD per day. The volunteers brought an ultrasound machine, boxes of medicine, paper products, wheelchairs, and a generator.
